CORSICA: Two thousand years of Corsican history!

Corsica is our current adaptation of the game originally designed by Ruben Navarro (never published but under Wisdom Owl license – see also on BoardGameGeek) . We plan to have the game also adapted in digital version, thanks to Philippe Thibaut (Europa Universalis, Ageod, SGS) who has also realized the Wisdom Owl boardgame version (under evaluation) in 2018-2019.

The original boardgame used most of the rules of Britannia, with some changes that we have adapted to our Invasions engine, in order to get a fun and fast game of almost 2,000 years of history.

Take the role of the early conquerors of the Island of Beauty, or its local heroes rebelling against foreign invadors, and play till the begining of the French Revolution, when one famous son of Corsica, Napoleon Bonaparte, takes a role in that millenium-long struggle.

Corsica is an historical strategic game for 4 players covering the hectic history of the beautiful island of Corsica.

In a typical game of Corsica, during 16 game rounds players will take command of the different nations that invaded and partially or fully controlled the island between 556 BC, when the Ancient Greeks first settled the spot of Aleria on the eastern coast, and 1796 AD, when the island finally fell under French control.

Corsica is well known to European tourists for the beauty and quietness of its coasts and inlands. But what visitors may not know, is that on the same beaches where they bathe today, blood-thirsty, fierce warriors of all nations around the Mediterranean Sea have been landing during centuries with an only idea on their minds: taking full control of the island!

Nations available in Corsica include the native Corsican Ancient tribes (one for each player), Greeks, Carthaginians, Etruscans, Romans, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Saracens, Lombards, Franks, Aragonese, Papal, Pisan, Tuscan, Genoese, Corsican rebels (with a few different factions), Ottoman, English and French.
